february 17th (tl; dr)
Be forewarned, this is a very mundane, probably bordering on a tl;dr, kind of a blog. The thing is, yesterday was just an awesomely awesome perfect kind of day, where things seemed to go so right from start to end! As such, I wanted to just try to immortalize the feelings and the milestones (!) here to reflect upon later.
So, in bullets.
- Woke up on the right side of the bed for once! I’m sorry, but for someone whose sleeping patterns are erratic and nocturnal and basically crazy, this is a real achievement!
- Had an awesome workout at the gym today. Again, small achievements first; it feels even better since I started early and finished early, and even did a few extra crunches and sets on that weird Hawaii chair-like thing.
- This magazine contacted me to get me as a freelance writer. Nothing’s final yet, but I’m so happy because really, branching out and writing for a few different kinds of magazines is all I want to do! On a related note,
- A friend of mine told me about an opening as a writer at a company that produces titles that are close to my heart. Yes, I’m being intentionally vague about this so as not to jinx it! Since the others I’ve applied with are taking basically forever and I’m not hoping with them anymore, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this! It’s actually something I can picture myself being happy with in the long run. :)
- Got my back pay. FREEDOM NEVER TASTED SO GOOD HUHUHUHU.
- At this point in time, I am very capable of getting my iPad. Remember, I promised myself before my birthday? However, a techie friend told me to wait since Apple will be launching new models in March or April. So I’ll wait, haha. Only I hope it’s not an iPad2S or something like that shit, otherwise I will be really pissed off.
- Had a really nice day at the office today! Had a good long chat with my teammates trying to strategize, plan next steps, and basically find the lighter side of things! And of course, that episode. Haha.
- Things are going well with our family business. :) And let’s keep it at that. I guess all that was needed was a lucky charm and a boost.
- MY HAIR COOPERATED TODAY! This whole week, I’ve been having kinky hair days that really look weird and make me feel a bit weird when I’m talking to people because I have to keep making sure it stays… down… but yeah! Today my hair was great! Good hair days really make for good days. And it sure came in handy today! +1 Confidence!
- Signs. I don’t believe in signs, but as Jiz said, “For someone who doesn’t believe in signs, you’ve been getting them a lot lately.” Maybe the Universe is finally giving me a chance? Let’s see. I’ll help the Universe give me a chance, too.
- FIREWORKS! Yesterday before I went to bed, my day was capped off by a good 5-minute fireworks show just as I was thinking about how awesome my day was. And though I don’t believe in signs, I hope it means what it means metaphorically. Because I love fireworks and I’m hoping for fireworks in my life soon, if you know what I mean.
I know I’m a pessimistic person by nature, but positive days like these with a lot of happy, giggly, silly moments really helps change that slowly. I’m just so thankful for all these blessings and moments.
